Chhavy Barah Angoteeah joined SA Law Chambers Solicitors as a paralegal in the Family and Childcare Department in November 2024. She provides dedicated support across a broad range of family law matters, including public law care proceedings, private child arrangement disputes, divorce, and financial remedy cases. She works closely with the solicitors in the department while also managing her own caseload under supervision, demonstrating both initiative and reliability in handling sensitive matters.


She regularly deals with clients independently, taking detailed instructions, preparing court bundles, attending Public Law Outline (PLO) meetings, and liaising with counsel, local authorities, and other professionals involved in proceedings.


Fluent in English, French, Creole and proficient in Hindi and Urdu. Chhavy is able to offer exceptional support to a diverse range of clients, particularly those who are vulnerable and facing language barriers. She is known for her professionalism, strong work ethics, and attention to detail, consistently going above and beyond to support the team and deliver high quality legal assistance.


Chhavy was called to the Bar of England and Wales in March 2025. She holds an LLM in Bar Vocational Studies (Corporate Practice) from City, University of London, and previously completed an LLM in Intellectual Property and International Commercial Law at the University of Kent. She graduated with First Class Honours in Law (LLB) from the University of Kent.


Her academic and professional promise has been recognised through multiple awards, including the “Tomorrow’s World” Excellence Scholarship and the Kent Graduate Scholarship in 2022. She was awarded a Bar Vocational Studies Scholarship in 2023 and received the City Law School Prize for Outstanding LLM Clinical Work (COIN) in 2025.
